Biodiversity Landscape Fund (BLF) – Lower Mekong landscape
The BLF is a UK government programme focussed on protecting biodiversity and promoting its conservation, reducing poverty and tackle climate change across 6 critical landscapes.
Its general activities are:
- Improving management and linking of protected areas
- Creating alternative sustainable livelihoods for local communities
- Strengthening landrights,stewardship and natural resource governance, as well as support improved planning to reduce environmental impacts of infrastructure development
- Tackling illicit activities such as poaching
- Investment in sustainalbe local bussiness and green finance initiatives
The BLF program is overseen by a Fund Manager, with MEL guidance provided by an Independent Evaluator Team (INDEV) and an independent Data Service Collection Provider (DCSP).
SNV leads Component 2 across three countries, focusing on a transition to sustainable agriculture linked to forest and wildlife protection, creating new opportunities for market access. Additionally, SNV contributes to Component 1, which involves developing sustainable livelihood models. This includes, where applicable, improved land rights and tenure over natural resources to promote sustainable biodiversity use.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning Consultancy
- Master's degree in rural development, project monitoring, business or equivalent
- At least 5-7 years’ experience in qualitative and quantitative M&E
- Demonstrable knowledge, skills and experience in monitoring of livelihood and SME support interventions, GEDSI and indigenous people. Knowledge of multi-dimensional poverty measurement, and SAPA methods is a pre.
- Proven analytical and excellent reporting skills and ability to facilitate learning with stakeholders. Excellent research, analysis, and evaluation skills, Proficiency in digital data gathering, common statistical software, such as SPSS, R, Python, KOBO, LogAlto etc.
- In-country network / experience working in Cambodia, Laos or Vietnam. Ability to travel internationally and to do field work in remote places.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and one national language of the 3 countries.
