To support the rapid growth of our operations, LOLC is recruiting the following positions:
- Data Engineer (1 Position)
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
- Build scalable data architectures for real-time and batch processing.
- Optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues in data workflows.
- Implement data governance and security best practices.
- Monitor and maintain data integrity and consistency across systems.
- Integrate data from various sources including APIs, third-party services, and cloud platforms.
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies.
- Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
- Work with stakeholders including management, Product committee, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Strong proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
- Knowledge of data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
