Koampia Phum Yoeung Organization (KPY) is a Christian and non-profit community development-oriented NGO registered with the Royal Government of Cambodia (Ministry of Interior) in 2019. We work in partnership with local authorities, churches, partner NGOs and other development agencies to achieve KPY’s mission of improving the lives of the vulnerable in Cambodia by providing training and consulting on financial literacy, and community and family development. The long-term vision of KPY is to see strong and financially stable families improving their lives, and strengthening poor communities across Cambodia.
KPY has been implementing the program to strengthen and expand its community-based multi-sectoral Child Rights Promotion through Education, Financial Literacy and Income Generation among poor families and at-risk communities in four provinces of Svay Rieng, Prey Veng, Takeo and Kampong Speu.
We are now looking for qualified candidate to fulfill the position below:
- Executive Director
- Strategic Leadership and Overall Management
- Provide strategic and innovative direction to the organization within the framework of the vision and mission of the organization, with strong leadership and coordination of all organizational teams including program, human resources, finance and administration.
- Build a positive, cohesive and unified team of leaders and staff through participatory and team building approaches based on the organization’s core values.
- Work closely with KPY’s Board of Directors to advance the vision, mission, and strategy of KPY.
- Build and maintain a positive and inspiring working environment which motivates staff to serve with excellence and high commitment.
- Organizational Development
- Analyze the context of the development work and lead the team to develop the organization to be responsive to changes.
- Provide strategic guidance to the management team to update and develop policies, standards responding to organizational growth, external trends and donors’ requirements.
- Ensure that staff have adequate capacity to fulfill their responsibilities which achieve the organizational mission, goals and objectives.
- Resource Mobilization/Fundraising
- Maintain and strengthen good relationships with donors to secure continued funding support through timely correspondences, reporting, fulfilling necessary requirements and hosting their visits.
- Actively pursue potential funding partners and develop appropriate partnerships to diversify funding base.
- Lead the proposal planning and development process by providing technical guidance and support to seize funding opportunities and secure funds for program and organizational needs.
- Initiate concepts and identify opportunities with the assistance of staff team to raise funds locally to support the programs.
- Networking, Marketing, and External Relations
- Represent the organization and communicate with relevant stakeholders and the public to raise the image of KPY.
- Develop good relationships with government institutions, local authorities, IOs, UN and NGOs to strengthen the brand and reputation of the organization, and secure support for the cause of KPY.
- Serve as the primary public voice and spokesperson for KPY and speak out on the key issues that are most relevant to the mission of KPY.
- Maintain and strengthen networking with relevant NGOs and IOs for high level advocacy work and experience sharing.
- Support and actively engage with other relevant stakeholders/partners with efforts aiming to the development of the Country as a whole.
- Budget Planning and Management
- Oversee the development and planning of the organizational budget in partnership with the Finance team and Board of Directors.
- Work closely with the Finance team to monitor budgeted expenses and income, and ensure that organizational strategy and activities are carried out within approved budget parameters and available income.
- Make budget and program adjustments as needed based on available income and resources, with the support of the Finance team.
- Management of Program, Finance, HR/Admin
- Lead and supervise and support the Program Manager and Team to ensure that the program is appropriately developed and successfully monitored and implemented.
- Lead and supervise and support the Finance Officer and Team to ensure that the financial affairs are managed in an accountable and transparent way and the financial administrative systems are supportive to program operations and organizational development.
- Lead and supervise and support the Human Resource and Admin Officer and Team to ensure smooth implementation of administrative policies and procedures, development and strengthening of staff capacity, and ensuring that recruitment and benefits policies are in place and carried out properly.
- Lead, supervise and support other staff teams as they are developed, such as the communication/fundraising/resource mobilization team to raise funds effectively, and ensure effective implementation of those strategies/standards after approval/endorsement from the Board of Directors.
- A Cambodian national with a post graduate degree in related fields (e.g. social/rural development, social business/enterprise and/or NGOs skill etc.).
- At least 8 years experiences in a senior management position or Executive Director of development and humanitarian NGOs.
- Good record of team-oriented leadership, management and governance with high integrity and high capacity in other NGOs, related institutions or business.
- High moral and Christian character and maturity, with positive attitude and outlook to inspire and earn the respect of staff and others.
- Knowledge of business development and financial management.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge/experiences in “humanitarian/gender/empowerment based-approach” for sustainable integrated community development work.
- Experienced practical program/project development/management, and proposal writing skills with a successful record of approved and funded proposals.
- Excellent facilitation, mentoring/coaching and negotiation skills.
- Trustworthy with creative, proactive, open and humble attitude person.
- Be an effective and consultative problem solver with know-how and can-do attitude.
- Able to work independently, with high level professionalism and confidence in speaking and actions, being a role model leader for all levels of staff members.
- Fluent spoken and written Khmer and English language and good computer literacy.
- Cultural sensitivity with a teambuilding approach and attitude of service and fairness to all.
