Presentation of the charity: Founded in 2006, Enfants de Klang Leu is a French- Cambodian NGO dedicated to providing a safe and healthy environment for disadvantaged children and teenagers in Klang Leu, a village in the Sihanoukville province of southern Cambodia. The EKL Centre currently provides daily care for 60 children aged between 2 and 18, with all school-age children enrolled in school.
The organization focuses on four key priorities:
- Education: Promoting access to quality education for all children and providing educational support.
- Health: Ensuring access to healthcare, hygiene, and a balanced diet.
- Family support: Assisting families in creating a healthy and supportive home environment.
- Sports and leisure activities: Offering creative and physical activities to foster overall child development.
Our approach to education is based on active, project-based learning, combining teaching through games, projects, and creative activities to ensure children’s engagement and holistic development.

- Head of Educational Development
- Education (in collaboration with the 2 Centre Managers, and local teachers- tutors)
Managing educational projects:
- Design and implement relevant educational projects for various school levels, ranging from nursery (age 4) to the baccalaureate year.
- Coordinate the purchase and installation of educational resources, including the maintenance and animation of the library corners and the games and toys library.
- Extend and develop programs and tools already in place, ensuring sustainability and innovation.
Organizing educational follow-up:
- Organize and supervise tutoring activities and schedules for subjects such as Khmer, mathematics, English, and IT across all levels.
- Regularly monitor the progress of students and teenagers, including improving the school performance reviews and tracking mechanisms.
- Develop and expand our “toolbox” of strategies, methods, and resources to better support children with learning difficulties.
Setting up support services and activities for teenagers:
- Develop specific projects for teenagers, including short-, medium-, and long- term initiatives in education, hygiene, health, nutrition, arts, sports, and social work.
- Facilitate academic and career guidance, including establishing connections with schools, training centres, and universities, and managing agreements between schools, universities, and EKL
- Continue developing the multimedia club and its ongoing activities.
- Organize historical and cultural trips to help teenagers gain a deeper understanding of their country, its history, and its culture.
- Implementing professional development for the team:
- Identify training needs and collaborate with organizations to offer courses that enhance the teaching skills of the educational team, especially for our teachers-tutors.
Volunteers and interns management:
- Recruit volunteers and interns to assist in carrying out responsibilities and tasks related to educational initiatives.
- Manage and support volunteers and interns who join the charity to work on education-related projects.
- Guide and oversee their contributions, ensuring alignment with the charity's goals.
Raising awareness among families and parents (Social work):
- Organize awareness-raising workshops and meetings with families to involve them in their children's education and inform them about relevant topics.
- English classes: Organize and teach English classes for children of all ages and members of the staff who require it.
Developing our network of partners and sponsors:
- Organize visits and exchanges with organizations similar to EKL to learn from best practices in education.
- Establish partnerships with external experts (local and international) in the field of education.
- In collaboration with the Communication & Fundraising Manager, develop and implement a local fundraising strategy for educational projects, expand local partnerships, and actively seek new sponsors in Cambodia.
- Communication (in collaboration with the Communications & Fundraising Manager)
- Define and implement the annual communication plan for educational projects and actions.
- Create/review contents about education projects and posts for social media.
- Write articles related to education on social networks and other communication platforms.
- Collect images and videos for use in communication materials.
- Global/international responsibilities (as an expert and in consultation with Board Members)
- Prepare monthly progress reports on educational initiatives, actions and projects.
- Support the Communications & Fundraising Manager in drafting funding applications for local and international sponsors.
- Identify potential sponsors and foundations to fund educational activities and projects.
- Activate existing sponsors and establish relationships with new ones interested in the Education area.
Education and professional experience:
- A Master’s degree (equivalent to Bac+5) in Political Science, International Development, Foreign Affairs, Human Rights, Health, Humanitarian Action, International Law, or Studies in Project Management in the Education Area is required.
- Training and/or experience in project management is a strong asset.
- At least two years of professional experience in roles involving Education, partnership development, or project management within the nonprofit or private sectors. Previous experience in international solidarity or humanitarian work is mandatory.
- Fluency in English is essential, along with a strong knowledge of Khmer, to support intern collaboration, content creation, report writing, and representation. Proficiency in French will be considered an added advantage.
Technical skills:
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency with design tools such as Canva, Adobe Suite, Photoshop, and photo/video editing software is a strong asset.
- Knowledge in managing social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
- Knowledge and practical experience with funding application procedures for sponsors, private foundations, and institutional donors.
Personal profile and skills:
- A strong commitment to issues of international solidarity, particularly concerning children.
- A deep sensitivity to challenges related to access to education for underprivileged populations.
- Strong interest and sensitivity to partnership development within the international solidarity sector.
- A proactive mindset, with the ability to respond quickly, propose ideas to management, and work autonomously.
