Davies SM Attorneys-at-Law is a commercial law firm registered with the Bar Association of Cambodia located at Time Square 3 Tower in Toul Kork, Phnom Penh. Our management team are adept professionals, navigating Cambodia’s systems of law with educational backgrounds from world class universities, supported by extensive practices at distinguished firms across the country— providing legal services to local and international clients through our transcendence and innovative services.
We are now looking for qualified candidates to fulfill the positions below:
- Legal Intern
- The successful applicant will have the following key responsibilities:
- Provide legal support to the team based on a range of commercial matters, particularly on business registration and restructuring, property/land purchase, company land due diligence, real estate, business licensing, tax, employment, and immigration.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and translating any assigned documents from English to Khmer and vice versa.
- Assist senior team members in carrying out research on legal and tax matters in response to the client’s inquiries.
- Assist in drafting correspondence and/or communicating with clients on matters assigned by senior team members.
- Assist in coordinating legal projects with clients and team members.
- Assist the team in preparing website publications, including research and writing short legal articles.
- Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by management.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum requirement – Recent graduates with a Bachelor’s degree in law from an accredited institution (good understanding of tax law is a bonus).
- No previous legal experience is required. We are looking for applicants who are passionate about working in commercial law and eager to learn and grow with us.
- Strong communication skills - English and Khmer (Chinese is a bonus).
- Strong analytical, drafting, communication, and research skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and commitment to client service.
- Thrive working under pressure and complete assigned tasks by the deadline.
