Chemonics International is implementing the five year, $14.9 million USAID Cambodia Advancing Youth Leadership (AYL) Activity. AYL aims to enhance the capacity of youth, including those from marginalized groups, through leadership skills building and practical action opportunities and empower youth to participate fully in civic engagement and community development. AYL works primarily through local partners (up to 35) operating across 14 provinces in Cambodia.
The AYL activity strongly emphasizes providing paid internship opportunities for youth and is excited to recruit three (03) interns to join the existing intern team. The intern will be engaged for an initial 6 months, with the possibility of an extension for up to an additional 6 months, for a total duration of 12 months.
Interns applying should be available full-time and be able to attend events and travel on some weekends.
- HR and Administrative Intern
Human Resources:
- Building skills in the recruitment process, including job posting, scheduling interviews, and processing payments, with guidance from the Sr. HR and Admin Associate.
- Comply with the organization's policies, including confidentiality and code of conduct.
- Maintain regular communication with supervisors and seek feedback on performance.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn, ask questions, and participate in team activities.
Administrative:
- Gain knowledge of general office management tasks such as maintaining office supplies, asset management, office cleanliness and meetings arrangements.
- Learn how to process payment and prepare monthly phone card allowance for staff.
- Develop knowledge on inventory management and stock control activities.
Procurement:
- Learn about procurement process, including sourcing suppliers and obtaining quotes
- Actively engage in assigned tasks and projects, seeking guidance when needed.
- Be between the ages 18 – 29.
- Bachelor’s degree in, Human Resource, business administration or another related field.
- Have basic knowledge of labour laws, administrative skills, HR practices
- Preferably have at least one year of work or volunteer experience in a relevant field
- Experience using MS Windows and MS Office
- Possess a good level of written and spoken English.
- Be open to learning and able to respond positively to feedback
- Willing to learn and grow
