Chemonics International is implementing the five year, $14.9 million USAID Cambodia Advancing Youth Leadership (AYL) Activity. AYL aims to enhance the capacity of youth, including those from marginalized groups, through leadership skills building and practical action opportunities and empower youth to participate fully in civic engagement and community development. AYL works primarily through local partners (up to 35) operating across 14 provinces in Cambodia.
The AYL activity strongly emphasizes providing paid internship opportunities for youth and is excited to recruit three (03) interns to join the existing intern team. The intern will be engaged for an initial 6 months, with the possibility of an extension for up to an additional 6 months, for a total duration of 12 months.
Interns applying should be available full-time and be able to attend events and travel on some weekends.
- Events and Communications Intern
- Responsibilities:
- Comply with the organization's policies, including confidentiality and code of conduct.
- Actively engage in assigned tasks and projects, seeking guidance when needed.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn, ask questions, and participate in team activities.
- Maintain regular communication with supervisors and seek feedback on performance.
- Communication
- Learn how to develop communication content to showcase on AYL's social media platforms in both Khmer and English.
- Learn how to review and monitor partners' communication materials/content to ensure USAID branding compliance.
- Learn how to maintain and update the photo library in Microsoft SharePoint.
- Event management
- Learn how to support event planning, manage logistics, and handle participation communications to ensure smooth and successful outcomes.
- Be between the ages 18 – 29.
- Hold a high School Diploma.
- Preferably have at least one year of work or volunteer experience in a relevant field, such as event planning or communications.
- Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages.
- Experience in graphic design, photography, or video editing is a plus.
- Possess a good level of written and spoken English.
- Be open to learning and able to respond positively to feedback.
